Distribution of Sign Language Books |

The Sign Language Book, a District project undertaken by our sister club, Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur Central was published during the tenure of District Governor Albert Tan in fiscal year 2001/2002. This book was compiled by the “Father of Sign Language” Lion Tan Yap who is also a member of Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur Central. The book was officially launched during the 40th MD 308 Convention in April 2002 in Kuala Lumpur. District Chairman for Hearing & Speech Action & Work with the Deaf, Lion Yeow Wah Chin delivered the books to our club. |

On 25th April 2003 at about 11.30 am., Organizing Chairman of our club, Lion Raymond Tan gathered along Lion Edward Lee and Lion Joseph Lo and set forth to Sekolah Pendidikan Khas, located at Jalan Pahlawan 17 in Taman Ungku Tun Aminah. We were led to the school by Region 7 Chairman, Lion Tim Yok See as he is from the same locality. The principal of the school was away on business and we were met by the Senior Assistant, Puan Kamisah Bte Alwi. The visit coincided with the rehearsal for the AGM of the Parents Teachers Association and all students were already seated in the school hall. |

After a brief introduction, Lion Raymond Tan and Lion Joseph Lo handed out the books to the students. A total of 150 books were distributed, 137 to the students and 13 to the teachers. |
