   Mohd. Daniel Bin S.K. Kandar is a Form Five student of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Permas Jaya. He has been diagnosed as moderate to severe sensory neural hearing loss (SN loss) since birth. His plight was brought to the attention of Lion Edward Lee by his teacher Miss Chia Lee Chuan sometime in January 2003. Miss Chia commented that Daniel had been skipping classes too often because he could not hear what his teachers were teaching and the family could not afford the hearing aids.

   Our club agreed to sponsor him with the behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids which he got fitted at Aurabest Sdn. Bhd. The proprietor, Miss Irene who is a Rotarian, slashed the price from RM2,600 to RM1,600. Now Daniel is leading a normal school life.
