Leo Clubs, a programme of
a Lions Club, have participated in many outstanding activities primarily
aimed at aiding the less fortunate and contributing
to the betterment of their
local community. Emphasizing on Leadership, Experience and Opportunity,
Leo Clubs are giving young people a chance to
develop into interested, involved
and responsible citizens. It is the largest youth service organization in the
world. Most of the Leos after leaving school, have developed into excellent
leaders and organizers.
The Leo Club of SMK Permas
Jaya, a school-based Leo Club, is a programme of our Lions Club. It was formed
on the 24th February, 2000.
The Chartered President was Leo Chin Chern Yau. Lion
Edward Lee was the then Lions Club of JB Host President with Lion Tan Poi Chuang
as the
Leo Advisor. Initially with a chartered
members of 41, Leo Club of SMK Permas Jaya, through their aggressive membership
drive, have now a total number
of members standing at 135 and increasing. It's
the largest Leo Club in Johor Bahru and one of the largest in Johor State.
